Hmmm what to say since I last visited my blog. Life proceeds. Saw a girl for a bit, that ended. Been looking for a house to buy, nothing as yet. Playing some kickball which is more like drinking with the added element of a large rubber bladder. Work has been excellent and I should make engineering manager by the end of the year. Over all, life is fantastic and I am looking forward to what the future has to offer :-) Will try and keep this thing updated. Please forgive my forgetfulness.

The New Year

My roommate and I threw a get-together on New Year's Eve. I am having trouble remembering the details of the evening, but I had a lot of fun. It turned out to be a modest number of people instead of the 70+ I was concerned about. A huge turnout is awesome, but sucks to clean up after.

There are times when I wish my eyes could take pictures (my memory is a poor substitute). Crossing the Ross Island bridge this morning was one of those times. An enormous rainbow was coming up from OHSU. My perspective had it originating from the new mirrored glass building on the hill. Absolutely stunning.

I should have reached in the back of my car and grabbed my camera from my briefcase, but I didn't want to get myself into an accident. The morning was very dry so I don't know how there was enough moisture in the air to produce the rainbow. It's raining now so I guess that answers that. In any event it was truly awesome.

Turkey day was excellent this year. My brother's in-laws joined us from Bend and everyone enjoyed themselves . Thankfully all discussions of politics were deftly avoided. Of course most of my time was spent coming up with ever-increasing ridiculous sounds & faces to make my niece smile... or burp, or fart... or something! I think I only succeeded in terrifying her. Jesus! It's two eyebrows and teeth, hehe! Amira, I hope I haven't scarred you for life :-P

The pub quiz at Biddy's this week infuriated me with the inclusion of the freaking Sudoko puzzles. Seriously, who likes to do these things? I mean I can eventually get them right but WTMF does Sudoku have to do with Trivia?! I just turned in the damn sheet without even really attempting it. I much rather be talking to my friends in any event.

So normally I only like to go to ball games at the actual park. But I have been fortunate enough to have a dear friend who is very much excited about this year's league championship and World Series. So I find myself an accidental tourist in the world of baseball fanaticism. I am caught up in the moment and it feels oddly similar to the anxiety I experience when rooting for the Washington Redskins on that critical play they will inevitably f up on. Sadly this is a more frequent occurrence these days.

So all I can really say is (and I'm sure my fellow Tiger fans will agree): Zumaya you are a total screw up and I hate you and I want to stab you in the face, and by the way do you have Zoe's number?

Have bike will travel

After a year of procrastination I finally replaced the rear tube on my bicycle. Took it to Mt. Tabor and aside from a few issues with the rear brake caliper, the thing performed admirably. The view was outstanding.

Now to any who would attempt to steal my bicycle: I have lined the handlebars with an extremely deadly contact poison. I have, of course, built up an immunity to this poison and will thusly be unaffected. YOU however, will die a horrible and grisly death, your back spasming until it breaks like a twig in a futile attempt to pilfer my means of transporation.

Bored at work so I decided to create a blog. Hell, everyone else I know has one.

This will not be a regular journal as I don't have the motivation. However, due to the inevitable failing of human memory (both chronologically and pharmaceutically induced) I have to document the interesting parts someplace. Enjoy.

I think the Zidane image is representative of a desire to express myself in the most non-constructive manner possible. Or maybe it just means I want to beat the living crap out of some smug italians? It was supposed to be a little animated picture, but apparently I have already run into some limitations of blogger. Gah!
